Classical Neurofeedback Applications Review

This will be our last webinar in 2023. We are going to do a brief review about the most successful Classical Neurofeedback (CNFB) applications both for health and illness. This webinar will be an introduction to our next Classical Neurofeedback Seminar next February from the 14th to 17th in Saint Petersburg Florida. will review the current applications for Peak Performance in sports, work, high risk occupations and music. The most recent advances in substance and alcohol abuse and addictive behaviors, its relationship with residual or mistreated ADD and ADHD cases and how these conditions can be managed and rehabilitated with very specific CNFB applications.

ADD and ADHD clinical treatment interventions will be also review, discussing its implications in quality-of-life performance and personal achievement. We’ll pay special attention on procedures for the treatment of depression, PTSD, Anxiety, TBI and cognitive neurorehabilitation due to the importance of theses conditions in today’s particular impact in world population state of health due to its incidence and prevalence. To make our webinar complete, we will touch on the strong relation between CNFB and Brain Mapping, its most advanced techniques, and the role they play in pre and post assessments.

EEG, The first 100 Years

This webinar is part of our webinar series for the next Classical Neurofeedback Seminar on February 21-24, 2024 in Saint Petersburg Florida. In this session we’ll be talking about the first 100 years of EEG as well as its basic principles. We’ll take a short trip from the first EEG recordings performed by Hans Berger in 1924 to the most recent advances in QEEG and how it has been crucial to Neurofeedback and its development.

A small part of our 2024 Neurofeedback Seminar next February will be dedicated to this topic and its basic relation to relevant topics like: instrumentation, recording principles and procedures and Neurofeedback current applications.
Participants will find this webinar particularly relevant since it will be a short review from the beginning of EEG theory and practice to the current Neurofeedback achievements and practice. Join us in this journey of celebration, history, reflections on achievements and setbacks and expectations of a future of AI assisted devices and surprising future applications in Neurofeedback daily practice.

TBI and Cognitive Rehabilitation

According to the World Health Organization, around 50 million people worldwide suffer from TBI every year. In the United States, TBI affects approximately 1.7 million people annually, with over 75% of cases being mild TBI or concussion. For different reasons TBI is often underreported. Therefore, the true prevalence may be much higher than currently known. In the last two decades or so NFB practitioners have developed efficient protocols for TBI treatment and sequelae rehabilitation. In this webinar, Classical NFB protocols will be mentioned in general and the way they are going to be taught in our September Seminar will be also discussed. Cognitive disabilities are a frequent consequence of TBI, motivating patients to search for Cognitive Rehabilitation therapeutics as a clinical intervention to improve cognitive functioning in individuals who have experienced brain injury or even associated disease. Neurofeedback has been proven to be an effective approach. It targets specific areas of the brain that are important for cognitive functioning. It is proven to be very helpful for improving attention, memory, and executive functioning. In this webinar we’ll discuss all of these NFB contributions and how these protocols are going to be taught in the Seminar.

Peak Performance

Individuals who work in high-pressure environments or in roles where they need to perform at their best consistently need and can benefit from peak performance training, just like athletes, musicians, performers, and public speakers, to achieve their best results. People in high-stress jobs such as military personnel, emergency responders, healthcare professionals and individuals in leadership positions may seek peak performance training to perform under pressure and improve their decision-making skills and overall effectiveness. In general, the demand for peak performance training has increased in recent years as people seek to maximize their potential and achieve their goals, both personally and professionally, and maintain or improve their quality of life. NFB Peak Performance solutions have proved to be effective and are among the very few scientifically monitored applications developed to date for this purpose. In our September 14 -17 seminar we dedicated special time for the training in these protocols and its most important applications.

QEEG fundamentals and Instrumentation

This is the first of a webinar series dedicated to the key features of our 1st. Classical Neurofeedback Seminar to be held from September 14 to 17 in Saint Petersburg FL. In this webinar we will discuss the most recent advances in Classical Neurofeedback and the fundamentals of the QEEG process. We will also look at the most important elements in QEEG instrumentation from 1 to 24 channels and the different approaches for brainwave analysis and its different feedback processes.

Anxiety and ADHD Protocols

This webinar is dedicated to the elements involved in the Classical Neurofeedback (NFB) protocols for Anxiety management and those that are more relevant, efficient and have been proven to provide reliable solutions to anxiety states, reactions, and secondary effects.

In the United States, it is estimated that about 8-10% of children and 4% of adults have ADHD. The global prevalence of ADHD is estimated to be around 5% among school-aged children and about 2.5% among adults. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), ADHD is among the top 20 leading causes of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for children and adolescents worldwide. Throughout the years, Neurofeedback (both Classical and QEEG) has proven to be a reliable solution in the rehabilitation of the key elements of these conditions. In this Webinar we will review the main (NFB) protocols and the way they are going to be taught in our Saint Petersburg Neurofeedback Seminar.

Depression and PTSD NFB Contributions and Interventions

Data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) in 2019, estimated that 19.4 million adults (aged 18 or older) in the United States had at least one major depressive episode in the past year. This represents approximately 7.7% of the adult population. The alpha asymmetry protocol is one of the major contributions of NFB specialists to the health system not only in US but around the world for depression treatment and management.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), approximately 7-8% of the US population will experience PTSD at some point in their lives. In this spectrum It could be mentioned military veterans who have served in combat zones with a higher risk of developing PTSD, with estimates ranging from 11-20%. Survivors of sexual assault and childhood abuse are also at increased risk of developing PTSD, along with survivors from motor vehicle accidents and natural disasters just to mention a few. The protocol for PTSD management, treatment and rehabilitation is a key NFB contribution with major effects around practitioners training and patients’ therapy. This webinar is dedicated to talking about the basic characteristics of both protocols: Depression and PTSD and the elements to be trained in the Saint Petersburg NFB Seminar, September 14th to 17th.
